Picture Purge

Well it's been 9 months since my last post. Here is a little picture purge of what keeps me so busy. I have got to get better about documenting things and keeping track of things the kids do and say other than facebook. I have a lot of family on FB that I never get to see and that haven't even met the kids but keep up with us through there so that has been my main source of updating on life.

The biggest change is that our twinnies have started school! We couldn't have picked better teachers for Maci & Chipper. I was sure that we couldn't go wrong with whoever they were placed with. Maci is independent but loves everyone and wants to be best friends with everyone. Her teacher is perfect for her because she is well seasoned but I feel like she is clear about her expectations from her students and sets the bar high which we appreciate. Academics is very important to us and setting a routine and a high standard from the get go is what I am about. Chipper is my soft hearted, often overlooked child. He is the epitome of Middle Child Syndrome bless his heart. He is an easy going guy who can play by himself and never complains and doesn't request the attention that both Maci and Elias demand.  I have made more of a conscious effort to spend more one on one time with him though and last week we (just me and him) played hide and seek outside for almost an hour! Chipper has really flourished in just the few months he has been in school and we owe it all to his teacher. He is more social and write his name very well and has learned so much. We thought that we may struggle a bit getting him to focus because he is often in his own world but getting him to do homework is a breeze and he enjoys it!

How is it even possible that they are old enough to be in school. They had their first school dance just a few weeks ago but mom and dad weren't ready for that so they didn't go. I instantly regretted it when I saw pictures posted of all of their friends on facebook at the dance.

My Elias keeps us as busy as ever. This sweet little munchkin gives us a run for our money EVERY SINGLE DAY. We were nervous about him attending the babysitters alone because since day 1 he has had big brother and big sis with him but our sitter has told us several times that he is actually doing better there now that he is alone. Here he is this past spring helping at brother and sisters first baseball practice. We joked that he was the team mascot. There were several games where he would run out on the field mid game. We had some heavy hitters on our team and it made me really nervous but dad took care of him.

Since William and I have made more of an effort to spend more quality time with each other we have found a new hobby. Well he has. Last year he started playing disc golf with some friends from work. He would throw some by himself while I ran and then convinced me to play some with him and I actually really like it! Not that I am any good really, but it's nice having something that we both like to do.

And last but certainly not least my little sister is getting married! In just a few short weeks actually! Seth had talked to me a few times about asking Ashlie and how he was going to do it and we talked about rings. I am just ecstatic for them. Seth is a genuine guy who I know loves my sister with all he has. I am so proud of both of them. We just had their wedding shower last weekend, this weekend we have Ashlie's bachelorette party and then Oct 15th is the big day! I can't wait. They have chose to get married in the smokies and her dress is gorgeous! I am going to try not to cry but you know me...I'm going to be teary eyed all day I'm sure!

We had to sneak in a selfie at the wedding shower.

Seriously, just look at these two! Gorgeous!

30 Things to do before I'm 30 PT 2.

And the list continues!
I made a list of 30 things to do before I'm 30 and its actually a little harder than what I thought. But I have narrowed it down. Here's part 2!

14. Visit The Big Apple! I really want to go to New York! Like realllllly bad! William Keown I am thinking 7 year anniversary.

13.  I have had several different hair colors. Purple, Red, Blonde and for most of my life my hair has been pretty short. Life is to short to have boring hair and so I would like to get something different done in my 20's. I feel like this is the last year to really turn it up before I turn 30 and it looks like I'm trying to hard to be young. I'm thinking blue. And yes, I know this totally contradicts my goal of letting my hair grow and donating it because it's colored. You'll just have to stay tuned and see which one I choose.

12. Rid my life of useless items. I am not a hoarder by a long shot. I hate clutter and I have a rule that if I don't use it in 3 months and its not seasonal (I.E. Christmas Decor) then its useless to me and gets donated. However I do have a few things that I have been holding onto that just need to go. Maybe those size 2 True Religion jeans I scored at a yard sale for 1.00 because they were a "really big size 2" and I just "might" fit into them one day. Please girl, the last time you were a size 2 was 6th grade. And I'm totally fine with that. I'm more confident in myself than I ever have been but yeah...it's not going to happen. Just donate them.

11. Save More Money. If you know me, you know I love to shop. I pride myself in getting great deals and using coupons but really hunker down and save money.

10. Start keeping a journal. Whether it be electronically or a hard copy I want to start writing more. Whether it be the crazy things my 3 come up with. Sweet things my husband has done for me or said or maybe just counting blessings. Just document more.

9. Take a class. Hopefully this will be more than just one class because I hope to start getting my master's and convince my husband to finish his Bachelor's.

8. Get rid of bad habits. That's all I'm going to say about that one. I know what they are.

7. Volunteer for a cause. Not just for a few hours but really give my time and attention about something I'm passionate about. Helping abuse victims or hungry children in my community.

6. Forgive myself for past mistakes. I give myself a harder time than anyone ever could.

Ok...things are about to get serious...Top 5 more life changing things to do before I'm 30.

5. Pay off debt. We have most of our credit card debt paid off and about to really tackle student loans. How awesome would it be to go into our 30's debt free. YAAAASSS!

4. Be a better wife. Really, I think I rock in this department but there is always room for improvement. I have so many friends who all of their attention goes to their children and their husbands get left to the side. I really try to give my husband the attention and time he needs and deserves. Otherwise, when my kids grow up what am I going to be left with? An empty marriage. Wives, love your husbands!

3. Say no to people. If you need something done or need a favor. I'm your girl. It's in my nature to want to please people and help people but I need to learn to say no.

2. Enjoy motherhood more. It's really easy to get caught up in day to day things that HAVE to get done to over shadow 3 of the most important things in my life and that's my children. Y'all being a mom is so much harder than I EVER thought it could be.

1. Enjoy life! Find joy in the hard days and blessings in the trials. Have peace within myself so I can ROCK MY 30's!!

30 Things To Do Before I'm 30. Part 1

I will be 30 next year y'all...How is that even possible? It really seems like just yesterday I was 18 and starting college thinking 30 was forever away. If you're young and reading this...trust me..it's not. Not that 30 is old. I refuse to have that mind set. I keep telling myself that I'm growing up not growing old. Yes being an adult is tiresome at times. Bills, responsibilities and just day to day tasks can get you down easily but I don't think I would go back to being 21 year old Heather for a minute. Okay, maybe for a day so I could stop myself from making a stupid decision here or there (I'm talkin' about you STUDENT LOANS!) but really I enjoy my life right now. I am married to my high school sweetheart and the best man I know, my children are fabulous (most days) and I have a roof over my head and food on the table. LIFE IS GREAT! However, with 30 being such a huge milestone I have compiled a list of 30 things to do before I'm 30. Hopefully next year I can say that I have accomplished these things or atleast made a good attempt.

30. Master the winged eye. Seriously, don't laugh at me. If you know me at all you know how much I love all things makeup and skincare. And I cannot get a nice crisp winged eye to save my life. I'm not talking Amy Winehouse winged eye. Just a nice, sexy looking winged eye. That's all a girl truly wants.

29. Conquer a fear. If you ask anyone who knows me what my biggest fears are then they would (should) tell you snakes and closed spaces terrify me. One time a snake got in our house when William and I first got married and when he told me a snake was in our house I literally almost passed out. Everything got dark and the room started spinning. I waited in the car until he got rid of the snake. That's my man! However, that same man when we were in college decided to really test my fear of tight spaces and pushed me into an elevator. I went 10 kinds of crazy on him.

28. Donate my hair for a cause. I love short hair. It just looks better on me. I don't buy in to the long hair is pretty hair thing. Life is too short to have blahh hair. However if I am going to grow it out I would like for it to be for a cause. Right now my hair is the longest it has been in a long time. I am trying not to color it or do anything to it. This will probably be one that I struggle with.

27. Learn to sew. My friends are probably laughing at this. I am very impatient and to me learning to sew is something that requires patience (because I have tried to learn several times).

26. Sleepover somewhere "haunted". Who wants to stay the night at Waverly Hills with me.

25. Go on an all girls trip. Girls, lets get it in the works!

24. Climb a mountain. Not Mount Everest or anything but I love to be outside and I love to go hiking and so I WILL do this in 2016.

23. Sleep under the stars. I have asked my husband to take me camping numerous times but bless his heart he's to pretty for that. Maybe his sister and I will go. We can knock out 25, 24 and 23 in one weekend!

22. Go bungee jumping or sky diving. Just being a little over a year from back surgery and still having complications this is something I have to look into but if I can do it..IT WILL HAPPEN!

21. Say good bye to people who bring me down. I find myself becoming discouraged with the same people often. Not people who do bad things per say, but people who are selfish and just bring negativity. You're out. ONTO POSITIVITY!

20. Get another tattoo. If you looked at me you wouldn't think I already have two.

19. Smile more. Seriously. This is a goal of mine. Not that I am not a happy person but I have RBF bad and get asked more often than not what's wrong. I'm not mad...IT'S JUST MY FACE.

18. Try a new sport. My husband seriously asked me if I wanted disc golf stuff for Christmas. Uhhhh, no thanks..I'm thinking while vacationing take surf lessons.

17. Learn to play an instrument. I'm thinking guitar. I need to get little Chip lessons while I'm at it.

16. Take a cooking class. I think I am decent in the kitchen but there is always room for improvement. One of my best friends mom is a talented chef and so is my brother in law so really I have no excuses. Check out her website!

15. Get back into shape. This is something I have been really working on since March. While I am only down 27lbs since then slow and steady wins the race.

Well that's it for right now. Hopefully this time next year I can cross all or most of these things off the list. They may not seem like much to some but I wanted to set goals that were attainable.

Where Do I Get My Coupons

When I used to be big time into couponing this was the most asked question. Where do I get my coupons and how do I get so many. First of all, I get coupons from EVERYWHERE! When the PG comes out I contact my local newspaper office and have them save 20 extra papers for me with the inserts and it costs 5.00. This gives me 20 inserts and more than enough coupons. I rarely do this anymore simply because I don't have time. If there is a really good coupon out I will but otherwise its a no go but it's a great way to get a ton of coupons. I also have family members that will give me their inserts. You can also go to a certain brands website and usually if you sign up for emails they will send you a high value welcome coupon that you can print. I have an email address specifically for this that I just send "junk" to and can sift through it. That way I don't have all of these types of emails coming into my work or personal email that I use on a daily basis. You can also go to a specific stores website and print coupons or download them via your phone number. Stores such as Meijers, Kroger and Target all have this option. I love Target because they allow you to double coupon. Which means at the top corner of your coupon it will say "MANUFACTURER COUPON" or "STORE COUPON" and they will allow you to use one of each per item purchased. For instance if tide goes on sale for 3.49 which it sometimes does at Kroger and you have a manufacturer coupon for 1.00 and a store coupon for .50 you can use both of those and save 1.50!

A lot of people have private messaged me and asked about when I would be blogging more deals and honestly I don't know. I know that I will be couponing more and investigating for more deals with the holiday season coming up and I will be sure to post the deals that I find on here! I will try to update weekly with new deals and where you can find them so stay tuned!

Mother Moments

So I know that I said I was going to post yesterday but I had a little guy at home that was extra cuddly and we fell asleep together so the blog fell to the wayside. #sorrynotsorry. Anyways on my way to work this morning I was thinking about things to blog and deals and if you know me you know I get side tracked ummmm fairly easily. So I was thinking about something semi funny that happened the day before and it got me on a whole new blogging subject. Being a mom has taught me so much and I have done so many things that I never thought I would do. Pizza for breakfast? Yep it's happened. Dessert before dinner, done it. And you know you're not a mom when you are at the grocery store and see a kid pitching a fit and look over at someone and say "UH, my kid will NEVER act like that." Get over yourself. Yes they will. They may only do it once...but yes it will happen. Then it got me to thinking about if someone just heard parts of conversations what in the world they would think. I have yelled, ahem said more odd things that I would never think would come out of my mouth...Here are a few things that yes, I have had to say to my children while being a mother.

"Get your butt off of the oven." Oh, I've had to say this one several times. My dear sweet son has a habit of taking his undies off and putting his bare against the oven door while dinner is cooking. Seriously kid?

"Don't sneeze in my mouth." Yes my child literally tried to open my mouth and sneeze in it. Same child as above.

"Quit licking me." Please someone PM me and tell me I am not the only one who has a child that does this. He will just go up to me and try to lick my face like he is a puppy dog. Lord help me. I wish I didn't have to say it but yes same child as above. Anyone see a pattern here with this one.

"Don't stick that in the plug in!" Fork, spoons, straws whatever we can get our hands on. We are moving past this stage thanking the good Lord we made it out alive. Okay I know what you are thinking...is your house not baby proofed?  Please I have a billion of those plastic thingies and either they are a joke or my kids are geniuses. I vote the latter.

These are just a few of the things that I have had to say that has made me question my sanity. Trust me there are more. But that is for another day and another blog. On to what I do best. COUPONING! Here are a few deals that you really really don't want to miss out.

Ever heard of the NUME Curling Wand? It's supposed to be legit. It has rave reviews online and it is usually 149.99. Right now add the Nume Magic Wand to your cart online put in the promo code WINTER29 and get it for 29.99 plus shipping! Swear to it! Go HERE ! NOW!!

And here is an awesome deal if you are an avid CVS shopper.

A few deals and a Praise Report

I have to start this post by giving praise to my heavenly Father. My niece Cadence was baptized earlier today. I have prayed and prayed for Cadence since the day she was born. Just like I pray for my own children's salvation daily I lifted her up and about a year ago my prayers were answered when she accepted Jesus into her life. A few weeks ago she was talking about wanting to be baptized. We had discussed it before but nerves always got the best of her but today she made her proclamation and allegiance to Jesus and I couldn't be happier. If you know me at all you know how much I love my nieces and nephews. They are like my own and to witness this change in her life has me in tears. PRAISE THE LORD!!
